Account Requirements


1- What are the account requirements for accessing E-Service Training and EST Qualification exams?

To login to the Cisco E-Service training (EST) site, a Cisco.com account, a Cisco Learning Network (CLN) and an EST account are required. Use the Login-Help link on the EST Login page - http://www-tss.cisco.com


2- How do I register if I am a new user?
  • To create a Cisco.com (CCO) account, go to http://www.cisco.com and click Register on the top of the page, then fill all the required information.
  • You are required to activate your Cisco.com account on Cisco Learning Network. It will enable you login to Cisco Learning Network homepage - http://learningnetwork.cisco.com. This can be done by using your Cisco.com (Previously called CCO) user ID and password to complete the registration process on Cisco Learning Network.

3- Who is allowed access to E-service Training (EST) Statistics?
  • Cisco E-Service Training administrators and training managers from your company are allowed access to your exam statistics. When an exam is launched, you will be prompted to select a demographic category.
  • If you don't select your associated TPM, your training manager will not be allowed to see your exam results. Your statistics will be on another company's results list. Please make certain that you select your company from the drop-down list.

4- How much does it cost to access E-Service Training (EST) courses?

There is no charge for E-Service Training courses.


5- Who can access the E-Lab?

The EST E-Lab is available to anyone who can access the E-Service site consisting of Third Party Maintainer employees, Cisco VISEs, Cisco TACs and Cisco Outsource TACs.

6- How can I retrieve my forgotten Cisco.com (CCO) username and/or password?

To retrieve your Cisco.com (CCO) username and/or password, go to the Cisco.com Password Management Tool. You will be asked to enter the E-Mail address used when you created your Cisco.com account. You will receive an E-Mail with your Ciso.com Username and a link to the Cisco Password Reset page. To access the Cisco.com Password Reset page, you must answer the Security Questions you created when you created your Cisco.com account. When those questions are answered, you are given the ability to create a new Cisco.com password.

EST Profile Enrollment Confirmation


7- How do I confirm my EST profile enrollment?

After you complete your EST profile enrollment, an E-Mail will be sent to your E-Mail address with an EST Confirmation link. Click on the Confirmation link to complete your enrollment. If you need the E-Mail with the confirmation link sent again, go to the EST Account Confirmation page and provide the E-Mail address used when you created your EST Account. (Notes: You may not get the confirmation via email if your registered email address is not right.)


Accessing E-Service Training and Exams


8- How can I view my E-Service training and exam progress /history?

Complete these steps to view your training and exam history:

  • Login to the E-Service Training system.
  • Select Learning History under My EST menu.
  • Press the button related to the training or exam progress you're interested in. The ESTQ button will display information about COLT exams, while the other buttons will display information about completed training. The All E-Service Training button will display all of the training that has been access/completed.
 
9- How can I view my EST profile? To view your EST profile, complete the following steps:
  • Login to the EST Site <https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/community/learning_center/est>.
  • Select EST Profile under My EST menu.

Making Changes to Your Account


10- How can I update my EST Profile?

Users must first, visit the EST homepage in order to update their account.  From EST Member Login, enter your username and EST password then submit. Thereafter you can select EST Profile under My EST menu to edit your account information.


ESTQ Certificates


11- How can I create, view or print a certificate?

Complete the following steps to view or print a certificate.


  • Login to the E-Service Training system.
  • Mouse-over the My EST drop-down tab
  • Select the Exam Status link (copy the name of any completed exam you're interested in printing a Certificate of Completion for)
  • Mouse-over the My EST drop-down tab
  • Select the Learning History link
  • Click the ESTQ button
  • Click the Get My Certificates button
  • On this page, either scroll through and look for completed exams or use Edit - Find option to search for complete exams
  • Click the Print Certificate link
  • You will be taken to the EST Qualification - Prerequisite Table. Locate the exam that you passed and click the Check Status button.
  • You will be taken to a page that lists exams required and your status. If you have successfully completed the exam, your exam status will show "PASS"
  • Click the Commendation Letter button to print your Commendation Letter (Portrait format)
  • Click the Certificate of Completion button to print your Certificate of Completion (Landscape format)

12- - What are the prerequisites for all training qualifications?

Prerequisite exams for any qualification are displayed on the page that appears when the Exam link for any item is clicked.

  • Login to the E-Service Training system.
  • Mouse-over the My EST drop-down tab
  • Select the Learning History link
  • Click the ESTQ button
  • Click the Get My Certificates button
  • This page lists all of the exams prerequisites.

13- Why does my exam status show NO PASS when I have successfully passed the exam?

As the exam status messages indicates, exam stats are posted to the EST database at 9:00AM PST (GMT-7) every Tuesday - Saturday. Because of this, if you don't see your completed exam, wait check again after the next EST Database update time. If your exam statistics are still not updated, login to the E-Service Training system, Mouse-over the Support tab and click the Open a Case link. In the drop-down, select Can not find exam record. On the next page, provide the exam name and the date/time on which you passed this exam. We will determine the problem, and contact you.


Accessing Training & Exams


14- Who is allowed to access the E-service Training (EST) Content?

Cisco Third-party maintainer field engineers, Cisco TAC and Cisco employees can use EST. Other people are not allowed access to EST.


15- How to access the ESTQ Fundamentals exam?

Follow the steps below.

  • Login to the E-Service Training system.
  • Mouse-over the Qualification drop-down tab
  • Select the ESTQ Fundamentals exam link
  • The link to the ESTQ Fundamentals Study Guide leads to a study tool for the ESTQ Fundamentals exam. Answers to all questions in the exam can be found in this study guide. Be aware that this file can be opened as a PDF file by right-clicking the ESTQ Fundamentals Study Guide PDF link at the top of the Folder tree on the left side of the ESTQ Fundamentals Study Guide page
  • The ESTQ Fundamentals link leads to the exam confirmation page. Click the LAUNCH button to initiate your Cisco On-Line Test (COLT) login
  • Click the LAUNCH button on the COLT page and you'll be led to the ESTQ Fundamentals exam instructions page, which confirms the exam duration is 1 hour (60 minutes), the number of questions is 40 and the passing score required is 80%
  • From the ESTQ Fundamentals exam instructions page, click the Generate Questions button to start the ESTQ Fundamentals exam

16- Where do I find study material for an ESTQ exam?

Study material for the ESTQ Fundamentals Exam come from the ESTQ Fundamentals Study Guide. Study material for all other ESTQ exams comes from the E-Service Training that has been posted on the EST Site.


17- Who can access the EST E-Lab?

All Cisco employees and field engineers who work for our Third-Party Maintainer (TPM) partners.


18- How do I access the EST E-Lab?

To access the EST E-Lab, complete the following steps.

  • Login to the E-Service Training system
  • Select the desired hardware in option-1 and option-2
  • The Folder Tree will identify if an E-Lab is available for this Cisco item
  • If desired, click the link to review E-Lab details for that item
  • Select the Click here link to reserve a lab session and access E-Lab equipment
  • The next page will have a time chart on it, with time slots that the E-Lab you have chose is available. Click the time slot you want to reserve, and click the Submit New Reservation button
  • When you click the Start Lab button, be aware that the E-Lab system will initialize the router. You will receive a message indicating that it is OK to start the E-Lab when the initialization is complete
 
19- How many people can access the EST E-Lab?

Only one person can access one product lab at a certain time. This is because we have one set of equipment per product in the EST E-lab. There is more than one type of equipment in the EST E-Lab so there may be more than one person accessing something in the lab at one time.


20- How long can one person access the EST E-Lab?

For one hour at a time.


21- Where do I find study material for the ESTQ exam?

The material used to study for ESTQual exams is located on the E-Service Training site. The material may delivered by one or more of the following E-Service Training components: E-Learning, VHO or E-Lab. Technical information can also be found at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm.


22- What are the time restrictions regarding ESTQ exams?
  • The ESTQual-CORE exam has two versions. One is available only to those who have successfully completed the original version of the ESTQual-CORE exam. They will have 30 days to complete a CORE-Update exam. The other version of the ESTQual-CORE exam is for anyone who has not completed the original ESTQual-CORE exam.  This Core-Update is composed of four individual exams. For each of these exams, you have 7 days from the time you first access the exam to complete it.
  • You can log in to work on an exam any number of times you want to during the 7 days. Each time you log in, the system will give you an hour to work on the exam. If your session times out, just return to the EST Login site and login again. If you quit from this session, the session times-out, or you lose the web connection for any reason, all of your answers will be saved (with the possible exception of the question that was being displayed when you lost the connection).
  • The only other limitation regarding time is that all four exams must be successfully completed within 9 months (270 days).

23- Can the ESTQ exams be retaken?

Yes, if you do not pass the exam on the first pass, you can take it four more times. If more than 5 attempts are required, please Open a Case. If you have questions regarding exam items that you can't find the answer to, please Open a Case.


24- Do I need to complete both a written exam and hands-on lab to attain ESTQ certification?

This depends on the training that you are completing. There are some EST Qualifications that only require the successful completion of the written exam and some that require the successful completion of both the written exam and hands-on lab.


25- What types of E-Service Training components are available on the web and/or on a CD?

Remedial Procedures, E-Learning and VHO are offered on the web and on CD. Both ESTQ exams and E-Lab are available only online.


26- Where can I find other training resources?

A useful link both with and without a Cisco.com account is the search box that is available at http://www.cisco.com

27- Can I view my training and exam progress?

Complete these steps to view training and exam progress:

  • Press the menu tab labeled My EST at the top of the page.
  • To view Training progress, click the Learning History link to view your Training Progress.
  • If you are looking for exams that you have completed, click the Exam Status link.

28- What is an E-Lab Assessment?

This assessment provides the ability to evaluate user's knowledge gained from taking an E-Lab. Being able to assess performance increases usage of the E-Lab modules and improves the product expertise of FEs.


29- Can my manager see my ESTQ statistics?

Only some Managers have been given EST-Admin privileges, so they can see another person’s ESTQual statistics.  Even though that is the case, on the first of every month, we send a statistics report to all TPMs indicating who has completed ESTQual Exams.


30- Who is notified once I pass a ESTQ exam?

When you pass an ESTQual exam, if you have a manager defined in your Cisco.com Account, both you and your manager will receive a notification E-Mail of the fact that you have passed that exam.  If you do not have a Manager defined in your Cisco.com Account, only you will receive notification that you have passed that exam.  Be aware that on the first of every month, a statistics report is send to all TPMs indicating who has completed ESTQual Exams.

ESTQual stands for E-Service Training Qualification. The ESTQual program was developed to help assess the skills learned through the EST material created for training Cisco Third Party Maintainers (TPMs), Cisco TACs, Cisco Outsource TACs and Cisco Virtual Internetworking Support Engineers (VISE)

Types of EST Training


35- What is VHO?

VHO stands for Visual Hands-On, it includes detailed chassis and Field Replaceble Unite (FRU) information, such as LED indicators, part numbers, module or chassis interfaces ... etc.


36- What is EST E-Lab?

E-Lab is a web-based, remote-access lab that provides Cisco VISE and third party maintainer field engineers (TPM FEs) with access to real Cisco equipment at anytime from anywhere.


37- What is "E-Learning" in the product navigation tree?

E-Learning is short VOD (less then 5 min) that provides a product overview summary.


38- What is "Remedial Procedures" in the product navigation tree?

Remedial Procedures covers detailed instructions on how to replace the selected product's hardware components.


39- What is "3D View" in the product navigation tree?

3D View is an interactive module that allowa the student to view the selected product in 3D.
